Running from the Sun

by Michael D Nalley   Mar 23, 2008

Running from the sun. Running from the rain.
Running from the truth. Running from the pain
Do we understand or can we all explain
The illusions created in the human brain?

How did we start where did we begin
To revolve from a saintliness to sin
It takes time to turn around to let the light in
Is the line between day and night so very thin?

Many have wept the tears that cleanse the eyes
They have seen past the darkness and thin disguise
Of the futile race against the sun that is so unwise
And have risen above the illusions and worthless lies
