Brief History of Drowning (part 2)

by Curing the Comon Cliche   Mar 24, 2008

Floating, dead
Cold and numb
Bad cards were dealt
And the damage is done

I can't tell if my heart is broken
Or if it was ever intact
Broken hearts, they tell no lies
You can see when they are cracked

Breathing in cold water
Taking in the sea
But just then I found a girl
Floating next to me

How long has she been there?
Is it possible shes alone?
How the hell did she get here
Oceans away from any home

Out I stretch my hand
For I don't believe shes real
I hug her tightly
'Til her heartbeat I can feel

An angel
This means that I'm dead
But of course, I'm only drowning
This could all be in my head

"This is the last of earth! I am content."
Dying words of John Quincy Adams,
