I wrote some words in my diary today
Its no surprise they were all about you
About how you told me to go away
And how you said we were through
I remember the day before you broke the news
How happy I was then
If only I had known what would ensue
I might would have seen your ruse
If I had known it was coming
I might would have worn a shield
It might would have lessened your firing
But it wouldn't make you yield
Before you left, you told me don't be so glum
You'll find someone better than I, someone new
So you left me with my 'freedom'
While all I ever wanted was you.
