Ocean

by StandStill   Mar 24, 2008

A little girl
drowning
alone in the sea
A little girl
drowning
perhaps this is me?

so cold is the ocean
she lies in its arms
so warm is the ocean
protects her from harm

hiding and seeking
answers never found
hiding and seeking
the game ends when she drowned

pulsing and throbbing
her head or the water?
pulsing and throbbing
she gave up, doesn't matter

and a little girl drowning
in a painless sort of way
a little girl dying
never again to see the light of day

floating alone
so cold and so dead
floating alone
in a sea bed

tucked into death
with a blanket of memory
and the starfish befriend her
oh, how friendly

what a painless way to die
in an ocean so large
when all of a sudden
over head sails a barge

and it drags up the girl
an end to her rest
they save her, alive!
and her heart aches in her chest

for the rest of her days
with covers tucked in tight
she wishes for the floating calm
she wishes with all her might
