Poor Little China Doll

Poor little china doll so fragile on the wall
all alone the beauty screams
astonished eyes-- no tear fall
eccentric thoughts an unjustified scheme,
open your eyes this can't be a dream

Poor little china doll so brittle by the shelf
you admire your mistress--
compare her to yourself
you envy her charisma, the life in her chest,
never alive born with no jest

Poor little china doll so delicate by the stand
you need to be prized
no one understands
everything is up for compromise,
bury your head with the woes and the whys

Poor little china doll so angered in the dark
you hear the beat but can't feel the heart
grab the match and light the spark
end it now the glass breaks apart

Poor little china doll all you wanted was a chance
your shards spread across the floor
the imagination conquered the trance
your spirits are crushed forget what you swore,
from beginning to end you lay their no more
