Solid ground

by StandStill   Mar 25, 2008

I need some solid ground
in this tumultuous sea
I need something to hold onto
before I lose sight of me

I need a stronger footing
before i go and slip
I need a hand to hold onto
something solid i can grip

I need something on which to stand
so the i stop this minor fall
cuz next time it might not be minor
perhaps i'll lose it all

maybes aren't enough
to keep me dry and warm
memories don't satisfy me
they don't keep me safe from harm

these waves keep thrashing
crashing all around
and still i can't find myself
a piece of solid ground
