Ring for her finger

by ace   Mar 25, 2008

If I should give you a prize,my woman,

what would you ask of me?

rings for your fingers, gems for your hair, perfumes from Araby

Or two white horses to draw your carriage down to the moonlit sea?

such things,my lover, women hold precious, symbols for all to see,

but one thing only i ask of you and the cost is ever free,

To love me only, seeking no other,in endless fidelity.

nay, that is the thing my dearest woman,i cannot give to thee.

gems for your hair and rings for your fingers

but never constancy...
