Spent so long just trying to fit in,
Waited so patiently for my life to begin,
I just sat back and waited for it all,
But I ended up the audience, watching my life fall.
It's taken some time but I know I was wrong,
I shouldn't have sat around waiting so long,
It's my life to live and to live it as I choose,
I've got to make sure I have something to lose.
I'm taking control and I'm running the show,
When I find something worth having I'm not letting go,
I've got to make decisions and I've got to choose which way,
Which paths to choose, when to go and when to stay.
