Puddle of an Image

by Andy   Mar 27, 2008

I sit looking at this picture of her, with tears building in my eyes,
Slowly I cross my finger over her face, as if it were her own..

A tear drops from my eye and lands upon her face,
Gradually the tear soaks into the picture of her..

Suddenly, the picture of her melts into a puddle beneath my feet,
I step backwards and dry my eyes, as the puddle slowly grows larger..

It then takes shape of a human ..

.. A girl ..

As the liquid takes shape, it takes shape of her, my true love,
She then speaks to me, yet ever so quietly ..

.. I love you ..

Slowly I move my hand towards her face and reply to her, also ever so quietly ..

.. I love you too ..

Yet before my fingertips touch her soft skin,
She melts back into the picture she once was..

Collapsing to my knees I gaze upon the picture of her, with tears streaming down my face...
