But He Means Nothing To You, And You Don't Know Why

by Jenni Marie   Mar 27, 2008

As you stare at his face you wonder what you ever saw in him
Trying to recall when those special emotions were felt within
Knowing everything about him yet he's now a total stranger
Been living in a fairyland unaware you're heading for danger

Whatever happened to those days your eyes would meet
You'd feel safe and secure, finally content and complete
Haze has now lifted can't distinguish between love and hate
Once perfect for each other how has this become your fate?

Staring into his pretty blue eyes you're feeling nothing at all
And you're indifferent as you watch him begin to silently fall
There used to be nothing except unconditional love and trust
And now all that is left behind is loathing regret and disgust

Trying to rectify things for so long, but now you're become unsure
How has it come to this between you, love used to be so pure
Wrapping you in his arms realize between you there's a wall
One person you used to love, care for now means nothing at all

    Wow. O.o
That was an amazing ending, it ended with a POW! (: I adore this piece.

    - Oh dear, that was just so sad - this whole piece was sad and heartbreaking. It always hurts to lose a someone you love, and you portrayed this hurt beautifully.
The flow was smooth and your emotions were intense. Nicely done.

    Phenominal job, m'dear. Overall: 5.5

A very nice piece, well, I liked it anyway. I especially loved the last two lines of stanzas one and three, because of the rhyme and the strength of the lines themselves. Nice wording.
