Last prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray to the Lord my soul to keep
if shall die before I wake
please let him know my heart he'll keep
Dear Lord please let him know my love was real
let him believe in all he felt
I know dear lord my time is short
but he is all I loved on earth
so let me have one selfish plea
and pray he never loves anyone
the way that he loves me
keep me fresh in his mind
let him know he's always mine
Dear Lord, I feel my breaths
there getting shallow and weak
I know that you are calling me
but I ask for one last wish
let me give him one more kiss
my body limp and lungs so closed
yet the only pain I feel
is missing him and not having him close
give me just a few more breaths
he's on his way don't call me to rest
I hear him screaming down the hall
he's crying dear lord
I can hear I'm fall
Pick him up dear Lord
give him the strength he needs
to hold me once before I leave.
lead him here to where I lye
let me hear I love you before I die
