Alyson On My Mind

by brie kelly wise   Mar 28, 2008

I know this is not what you wanted
A lonely little girl lost in her own lies
But trust me, Alyson, you're not alone
Distance is a matter of miles
But along the way, you'll find yourself hiding out
Bitter taste in the back of your throat
The taste of him stays on your tongue
You claim he's always there and maybe he is
But can't forget about those windy days...

How we shared a cigarette
And made sense of what we were told
Feet dangling off the side rail
Our words in a deep chokehold

God I miss you Alyson, you know you're on my mind
Your crowd is calling you, but we're screaming
Please come back home before we all go away
I know you hear us because it's all we do
I try to think about your new life but
Alyson, you're the only thing that's tearing us apart
The memory of that long night...

How we cried when you just left us
We were confused, hurt and lost
But now we think of you all alone in that big city
I know you're thinking about that home you lost
