Jake, It's Not Over

by brie kelly wise   Mar 28, 2008

Its hard to be happy when you're young
We're alone on this one
Just us in the middle of a small town crisis
No one's listening, so we stay quiet
We pass our escape on the way to please them
But I told you I loved you, there's no way out
I can never take it back and I never meant it
I only said it to make us permanent
I thought it would complete what we had
But it only started a war between ourselves
We had trouble separating what was real
Were there really footsteps?
Or did the wind erase them to lead us to insanity
We were only thirteen, amazing we found each other
Amazing I had a chance to trust you
But we're older now, away from that fake society
We moved on yet I'll always keep you here with me
You were my first and I always wanted you to be my last
But it was just a forever illusion
A small speck in what we looked into for our future
It's called being young
You have your chances and you find out
Nothing lasts because it was never real to begin with
So I'll take what you gave me
And find someone away from home
