Entrapment

by Steph   Mar 29, 2008

She was as precious as a flower,
Her alluring beauty was so soft and sweet.
She was a rare bud of early spring,
A wild blossom of pure innocence.

He appeared harmless behind a mask of youth,
Wholesomely smoldering and devilishly handsome.
But he had a scheming mind to benefit himself alone,
And his heart was tainted black with evil.

He performed for her a sinful dance of seduction,
Spinning a web thick with lies and deceit.
She was his victim for him to bait,
And her naive heart allowed her to trust.

Entrapped in his illusion, he stole what was not his.
Her innocence was lost to an undeserving man.
His spell was too powerful for her to see,
That she was making a grave mistake.

He was one to conquer and move on.
He had done what he had set out to do.
He enjoyed the pursuit more than the catch,
So he left her behind without looking back.

Awakening form her trance, she finally saw,
The mistake she had made but could not take back.
She wept with despair for all she had lost,
For she was a shadow of what was once so pure.

Now he's off making empty promises to his next victim,
While she's a wilted flower with no love left to give.
She is an empty shell - he had robbed of her of herself,
And of all the things that made her special.
