The Suffering.

by Solus   Mar 29, 2008

You say you want to help me.....but do you know what will happen if I follow you now?

They'll put me in a "facility", more like a tomb of the damned.

Despair and madness rule and the cries of the lost and broken echo within.

Insanity of the world and evils of the mind, they merge into the deepest horrors.

Then they shall shift through my mind, bringing out the darkness I've struggled to keep buried and chained.

And when my defenses crack......and the demons rush upon my soul.

Do you think they can save the fragile creature before them?

No, I won't survive as I am devoured from within my own shattered mind.

I've come here to hide away in shadows, so none may see my fall.

The monster inside wakes slowly and tastes my midnight soul.

So I must refuse to go with you....for the suffering would be far too great.

Alone with this I must stay, to keep safe what little I hold dear.

Left with these feelings of nothing but a cold winter's shade......

This poem is extremely dark and there is definately more to it than meets the eye.

i like how you describe things and the heaviness and emotion in your work really shines through.

the impact of your writing is immense and you manage to capture the reader in a unique way.

    amazing, through and through.

You have so much meaning in your writing. each word is like a darkened caress...i like this poem though i think too often people just brush off problems and sending someone to a "facility" is another way to do that.

    you're a very talented writer.
