My Gothic Fairy Tale

by Jenna Rose Kat   Mar 31, 2008

I'm far from being a princess.
No frog I kiss will ever become a prince.
And I will never see my prince ride
over a hill on a white stallion.
But this is my fairy tale.

The angels' wings are not pockets of
blood.
The fairy's dresses are torn black silk.
Spider sew their webs together to make
my castle fortress.
But I swear I'm not a princess, because
I'm just a girl with a dream.

My dream to live without the constant
agony I feel.
To live without being judged by every
stranger glaring at me like I'm the freak.
To live any actually be happy to be alive.
But that's why they call them dreams.
They never become reality.

Maybe one day, I could turn my poem
to a book.
I could be free of these chains on my
every limb.
Maybe even I could steal away someone's
heart.
But for now it's just me, writing out
the words of my Gothic fairy tale.
