Freedom

by Lyssa   Mar 31, 2008

At this age
We are locked behind walls
Parental control
They say they make all the calls,

To children
Freedom isn't a word
Locked behind bars
Listening to all their words,

Time outs
Talking tos
Spankings
They treat us like we are two,

They once were kids
They said they hated it
Yet they go and do it
And we get in trouble for throwing a fit,

We are stuck in our rooms
Holding our parents hands
As we walk through the store
Sometimes I wish we lived on different lands,

To us children
Freedom cant be a word
We are locked behind bars
Listening to all their words,

Those time outs
The talking tos
Even the spankings
They treat us as if we were two,

Haven't they heard of freedom?
What the kids need at a point
To be their own selves
Live by their own points.
