A Shadow of Love

Upon an icy wake and a broken heart,
you stab with a bitter touch;
to tear from me all nourishing hope.
A careless nature of a love;
to look at you becomes an addiction,
but to taste you is just plain suicide.
To crave you constantly,
with nothing that with ever suffice...

To be lost in the shadow of this love;
is worse than any darkness.
Lost in a sea of endlessness,
with waves that never cease,
and a storm that never dies.

Sunlight is a mere thought here;
as this place is cursed,
by something that could just as easily;
become a blessing.
To be trapped within this love for you;
for what seems like forever.

This is a possibility;

But it's hard to believe,
when it's so easily thrown away.
I will drown constantly,
as this abyss goes beyond the horizons.
I am so close to being saved,
but it's just out of my reach;
just a fingertip away...
