One of God's Mistakes

by IdTakeABulletForYou   Mar 31, 2008

The golden meadow withers gray,
And all the life burns into hell...
Where not it be a place of sin,
Could it be God, mistaken?

The saint of saints burns at the stake
And hearts of gold shall once more break;
If did the soul be seen in hell
--Did God make that mistake as well?

Shall ever doves have coats of red,
or love be sin and true love dead,
We shall all meet the place to burn
For God -from mistakes- never learns.

Shall swords be clean, but present still,
and voices loud, but not quite shrill;
Shall petty, foolish errors lead
to burning for eternity?

Shall ever we be wiped away
Where once, in stone, our future lay?
--Although unfair, we are of guilt
to errors made by our idol.

~

I sink my fingers in the soil
Where my soul -in fire- boils;
Here, in hell, I must remain
Because I'm one of God's mistakes.

    You used your words very well, and I loved the way you structured the lines. I'm a harsher person than most and very, very rarely give out 5/5s, but 4/5 is still good. My favorite stanza was the second one, mainly because of the last line, it was brilliantly written, and the whole stanza flowed perfectly. However, I didn't really like the fourth stanza, in fact, I didn't like anything about it, not the words, not the rhymes, nothing, sorry. Apart from that one stanza, for me, it was great.
