New school (school project)

by Four Letter Lie   Mar 31, 2008

On the last day I admit I cried,
A little piece of my life had died.
Walking away from my childhood memories,
Heading towards new friends and enemies.

The new environment was overwhelming,
In all the green uniforms I felt like drowning.
My old friends seemed to walk away,
Maybe this wasn't such a good first day.

Slowly settling in,
For the first time, not feeling comfortable in my own skin.
Losing track of my childhood friends,
This new school was ruled by the trend.

New friendship bonds are made,
Old friendships are betrayed.
I'm staying here for better or for worse,
Will this new school be a beauty or a curse?

This was okay. The first and last lines were the strongest, and they're the most important ones. Stanza three was by far the weakest. The first line was too short, and the second was too long, and in the third and forth lines the words and rhymes were weak, sorry. I loved the last two lines of the first stanza, which was the best stanza by the way. I liked the last lines of that stanza especially, but those two lines had a good flow, good words and good rhymes, as well as power, well done.
