Forsaken Breeze

by Danielle   Apr 1, 2008

(Shakespearean sonnet in Iambic Pentameter)

I’m that subtle breeze you choose to forsake
Whisking around you on hot summer days,
Inconspicuously as a mistake,
I’m the breeze, intermittent as it lays.

I’m the draft that is there to remind you
To not forget the first time our lips touched,
Please just simply over pass what is new,
Feel this and know my heart is still untouched.

All this and you still try to ignore me,
Wistful eyes are passionately crying,
Although my mind wishes to disagree,
I sit here as though my heart were dying.

Now I simply wait for that perfect storm,
Knowing you will make my heart transform.

This is really sweet and sad, it's so full of emotion. I'm not familiar with this form but I liked it all the same. My favourite line is:

    "Wistful eyes are passionately crying,"

You're now officially added to my favourite poets list, I really love your work. Keep writing,

    Em xXx
