WHY?

Theres a word that I heard,
Someone shout out loud.
With each snicker and sneer
That came from the crowd.

This word, to my ears
Sounded bitter and mean.
Like a puddle of mud,
It was so unclean.

I stood there in tears,
So helpless, so hurt.
Ive never felt so low,
So worthless, like dirt.

Faggot! They yelled,
As they pointed at me.
Abnormal! They screeched,
Thats the way it has to be!

Things like this happen
Every minute of everyday,
Because people dont understand
That its ok to be gay.
