The widow (Blankness)

by Tine   Apr 1, 2008

A lonely cry along the night
pursuing its only hopes
for one to hear it say perhaps
crying alone on stone cold floor

broken, the widow stares
and sees nothing but her husband
flashing in front of her eyes
showing how she has lost him

the blackness of her clothes
does not show how sad she is
nor does the expression on her face
say how much she has missed
-and will miss-

and in her eyes there lies something
an exception to how she feels
the little blue dots of summer days
the green of big dandelion fields
-before spring-

she could turn into everything
this widow with all her blankness
but choses to be pale yet dark
alone in a place where that matters

The widow stares and sees
things we cannot see or feel
she sings the songs of long lost days
and smiles to empty spaces

She believes in tradition
For she has been living in tragedy
Another day of showing loss
pain and some strange kind of misery

The blue dots, they light up
when another spring arrives
for then she knows she might be a spring further
from her husband's demise

it's scary to say but she wants to be
as far from him as she can
for his death and his agony
are a strain on her soul from this man

another spring,she will be free
from loss, from pain, from agony
remembering him with grace and Honor
instead of with fear and without bravery

Another spring, yet no more tears
she will throw off this blankness
for she is too young to bare this pain
to live a life with all this sadness

The widow, she lives right now
in a place where it's springtime all year
where she can wear happy clothes
and let the blue dots shine without fear

Summer and spring will do her good
maybe she will meet someone again
this young widow, without any pain
not from anybody, not from her man

yet every year she will go and Honor
in the way she should, with grace
and leave some white, peaceful flowers
pun his grave, in a loving embrace
