In The Rain

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Apr 2, 2008

Rain.
Why did it rain that day?
It made the streets slick.
Your car became astray.
Why'd you turn that quick?

Death.
Why did your death seem so hurried?
You had many years to live.
We never thought....Never worried.
My life, for you, I would give.

Life.
Why, in my life, were you the biggest part?
I mourn for you every day.
So early in life, you had to depart.
I will live for you anyway.

Funeral.
I follow the casket to the grave,
With my black umbrella in hand.
As they lower the casket, I wave.
This sort of goodbye wasn't planned.
