To Be a Bird, and Not To Fly

by Beruit   Apr 2, 2008

When the sun settles down
And my heart sinks low,
I hide myself away
So that the world can't know.

I thought fear drives the sane
And happiness the ignorant.
Call me inane,
But I believed every bit of it.

I may not be old
But I'm wiser than most.
If you tell me I'm the same
Then I've been misdiagnosed.

To hide your mind,
To tell a lie,
To be a bird, and not to fly.

This is one of the many verses that stand out in this poem. But with a couple of words you've described most of todays youth...all adults need to know that just because we are small our minds are open. Taking in everything and embracing most of the things that have been left to rot.
