When the Cock crows

by Rose   Apr 2, 2008

'Tis the gift of Life to give.
So everyone must live.
As we grow
So does the Cock crow.
Once from the earth
To celebrate the new birth.
Once from the heart of nature
To welcome the newly matured.
Once from the Lord's keep,
As you lie in eternal sleep,
So does it weep.

Funny enough, as I read this, one was crowing just down the street from me. He's a little early being that it's 1am. Must be one of those hipster roosters.

To the point though: a very good write. Aside from a few punctuation tweaks, it reads well. It's short, sweet and has a good amount of imagery without being over done.

    Real nice :)
