Not so bad this way.

by Kat   Apr 2, 2008

Being this way isn't so bad.
I'm often alone on the shelves of each room.
I look different then everyone else.
Their faces so pretty.
My face shaded with black.
A saw a raven once.
It spoke to me.
"Your nothing more." it proclaimed.

Being this way wasn't so bad.
The people stare; some children gasp.
Being this way wasn't so bad.
You could pull my strings and i would do as you say.
I will dance and sing from a voice afar.
My lullaby is cold, my features are scary.
I am your favorite puppet am i not?
I look like you in every way.
Dancing and singing when alone,
Crying to sleep, hiding behind the makeup.
.It makes the pain of the world go away.
I don't mind being your favorite puppet.
In my black dress with blue eyes, i hide behind my makeup to, and cry when your not looking.
Don't be afraid, It's not so bad to be this way.

Hiding behind fake smiles can leave the soul consumed with grief and so lonely.

You know (and I don't think I have ever told this to anyone here) I have a tatoo of two face mask both smiling.

The reason I have them is to remind me that it is okay for me to wear a fake smile out in the world, but at home with the ones I love and trust I have to be myslef and not try to fake it until I make...

As long as you are honest with yourself and those close to you then the rest of the world can see your fake smile.
