No Heart, No Home

by Singthesorrow   Apr 2, 2008

Gone without a sound.
Without a trace, without a face.

Gone from my memory.
Like you were nothing but a faint dream.

Cut from dark shadows, and pasted in a sunbeam.
But I, I can see right though.
See past your shimmering gleam.

You are the death that lingers on my soul.

Good enough.
Fake love, and cheap promises.
They were good enough.
I believed.

You were something.
You use to be.
My everything.

Pain takes the form of a smile.
Lies become my breath.

Home is where the heart is at.
Where is my heart?
I have no shelter from your eyes.

Breathing ceases.
Lies become my shelter.
Lies hide your eyes.

Hides my connection.
Though the window of your soul.

Pain takes the form of a smile? Lies become my breath?
Your metaphors are exquisite ... I've read your other poems, and while I find you a simplistic writer, your words are still effective and, I'm assuming, coming straight from the heart.
    Good job!
