Vicious cycles

by StandStill   Apr 3, 2008

Cold metal
matches a colder heart
death sits on her shoulders
girl watches her life fall apart

the angel wings
she once had
traded in for a razor blade
now pain isn't too bad

shattered reflections
in broken mirrors
on the wings of the wind
death, blood, gore

little love letters
burned by her tears
another chapter ends
and another begins, more fears

vicious cycles
of trust and lies
broken promises on bleeding lips
acid tears in sad grey eyes

how to break free
of those who hurt
she'll never know
too hard to see sunshine when face-down in the dirt

wondering alone
while staring at blurred stars
when will the sun quit rising?
when can i pick up the shards?
