Haven 2.0 (Refuge under inner peace)

by Bhavin   Apr 3, 2008

A hollow futile mind
Thinking about nothing

Crying out my tears
Till eyes dry and empty

Elusive subtle relationships
Causing furrow and furor

Patchups and breakdowns
Causing hubbub and uproar

Patience getting killed
Like Alexander's death

Conquered all territories
But happiness is still left

In search of an emotional haven
I stress and strive

People call it my foolishness
I call it a struggle for life.

Synopsis:
Just a word about this poem. This is the most complex poem I have written till now. The word Haven has attracted me since quite a long time. I wouldn't be surprised if I write about the same topic again and again. This poem would either raise my bar or drop me down as a writer. But one thing is certain, I won't remain where I am currently placed as a writer.

Speaking about Haven, I had earlier written Haven 1.0 that dealt with seeking a refuge under God through conscience. (For more details, you may read the earlier poem.)

Haven 2.0 deals with seeking a refuge under the emotional satisfaction. We all work and we all do things that bugs us someday or the other day. We almost get fed up of doing repetitive things. Our mind experiences blackout, without any kind of thoughts and our brains experience emptiness. We cry from within due to our helplessness until we run short of tears.

Relationships are the most complex elements of life. They are hard to detect or define and in a process of simplifying the complex relationships we go through a narrow phase of depression and a state of commotion within ourselves. We break up, patch up with love ones and suffer nervous breakdowns in the process and this causes disturbance to our conscience.

Many people may not be knowing that Alexander the Great had the whole world conquered at his feet but he was scared of death. There is a similarity between our patience and Alexander's death. We may have conquered the materialistic pleasures in life, but inner peace and happiness is still left unconquered.

In search of inner peace, inner happiness and an emotional haven, people like me stress and strive. People seem to call it my foolishness and I call it as a struggle to live a contentful life.

    Lovely piece of work, Bhavin.

I have always loved poems that talk subtly of greater things. and you have done just that: there is so much to read between in this verse.

    great going!
