You're right, we're only 14. Maybe I shouldn't have treated you like "an adult" with this, or to be specific maybe I shouldn't have expected you to give me the commitment an adult would in this sort of situation. But to be honest? Take one moment, and I ask you to take just a moment to look back on what we had, who we were, before everything ended...What do you see? Can you answer that for me? If I were to take your hand, and take you back to those moments, would you see the same thing I see?
And what do I see?
I see two teenagers in love. Two teenagers who were raised in two different environments. You had the riches, I had the ghetto. Two teenagers who fought. Teenagers who were crazy for each other. Teenagers who were insane, untamed. Teenagers who acted on impulse. Teenagers who jumped the jump with each passing day without knowing what they'd fall into. Teenagers who dream. You spoke of your dreams, and I kept mine locked away. Teenagers who DARED. Teenagers who DARED to love one another. Teenagers who hurt each other, but loved each other with an unimaginable passion. Teenagers who some how magically were so different, yet found a way to come together to create such a beautiful memory.
That's what I see.
I see scandal.
I see love.
I see pain.
I see joy.
I see the battles we won.
I see complication.
I see temptation.
I see fear.
I see honesty.
I see US.
So what do you see?
Maybe your implications are right. That we're 14. That this wasn't real love, this wasn't it, it was puppy love. We really aren't meant to be. But you know what? In my eyes we came pretty damn close. To me this was real. This is my life, and it's my story. But this memory that I'll hold onto? It's a huge chapter in my book, our chapter, and my favorite chapter. You tell me repeatedly that you doubt we'll ever get back together, and that's how I know this chapter is finished, maybe finished for now, or finished forever, but I'm hoping that one day, we'll be able to pick it up right where we left off ^_^;;
