The Heart Wants What the Heart Wants

by Heimerschmidt   Apr 3, 2008

The heart wants what the heat wants,
A fact that can never be denied
The love that lives always haunts
Your mind, soul, and senses inside

The memory of once loving someone
Who you dearly and honestly cherished
Is an emotion that might have just begun
But it is a feeling that will never be perished

That wonderful, majestic, beautiful person
Will always have a special place in your heart
A place where your love will never be undone
A place that could never be torn apart

And although you don’t see that lover often
And although you have gone your separate way
If it was a true lover, your affection would never soften
You would think of them every single day

Regret may burn deep inside of you
A very natural response
I mean even after all you have been through
The heart wants what the heart wants…
