Hold Your Breath

by Gabba Gabba Hey   Apr 4, 2008

Hold your breath

let it go
the past has left you alone
why can't you release it?

Hold your breath

feel it in your chest
the lies, the love, the loss
greet the peace with cold eyes

Hold your breath

make the unconcious concious
leave the blade where it is,
you no longer need its cold comfort

Hold your breath

it's too precious to let go
out down the gun
can't you see it's over?

Hold your breath

because it is leaving you
why can't you accept you're safe?
Why can't you be happy?

Hold your breath

it is your last, savor it.

A really optimistic poem giving suggestions that we should now leave the past and live in present. The repetition of Hold your breath is very symbolic.Excellent work.
