Burried Alive

by StandStill   Apr 4, 2008

Eyes open
Darkness all around
little animal noises
quite night time sounds

Look around
and what does she see?
Nothing. Black.
Perma-night is reality

Dirt all around
making a wall
burried alive
with no one to call

nobody to save her
and she's suffocating
twisting around
panic is approaching

clawed fingernails
scraping and scared
she needs to get out. now
open her eyes..why had she dared?

she's screaming
but there's nobody around
save me! save me!
six feet underground

sweat beads her forehead
she needs to find a way out
right now, before she dies
all that's left is rabid doubt

she's giving up
there's not a chance of escape
there's no way out
no light, no sound, no shape

and suddenly there it is
a pinprick of light
she screams louder than ever
she's not giving up this fight

her throat is raw
and her eyes hurt
but sunshine and hope
are now breaking through the dirt

a fresh gulp of air
and a friendly smile
she embraces him
her rescuer full of guile

And every night now
she will thank God
for sending her a boy
to help her death be dodged

*you know who you are*
