Just Between Us

by marie   Apr 5, 2008

A need
For a sister-like bond, in a world where few genuinely care whether you live or die, helping each other
get through the misfortunes and sadness that life
often brings.

A touch
That says you are precious to me, gentle, comforting and we linger wanting to
be in that safe place a moment longer.

A friendship
Never a voice raised nor unkind word spoken, relishing
the joy felt by simply being together, thanking God for
giving us this beautiful gift.

A love
The kind of love only the best of friends share, strong enough to endure the passage of time, making our lives richer while making the other relationships in our lives better.

A choice
Choices that hurt so many people, the least of which is me, losing my respect,
deception becoming the name of the game, losing my trust.

A tear
For the young, vibrant, and intelligent woman who is wasting the good years of
her life, her children wanting their Mom back, for
the emptiness still felt.

A wish
That someday soon she turns it around and realizes what truly brings happiness and fulfillment, hoping we get another chance.

A memory
Our memories, which no one can take away, helping me get through
