Empress

by StandStill   Apr 6, 2008

Crimson lips, pale white skin, made of blood, moonlight
She holds eternity in her slender, courageous fingers
She breathes the breath of night into all who are around
And her malignancy upon them forever lingers

Pale moonlit brow upon her head, a halo of death
Perfection at its highest point rests within her
A burning cold lives in her bleak, burned out heart
Look into her eyes, Reader, and you'll see her fire

Pain compels her to live on, this eternity hypnotized
Slender fingers wrap around things like time and love
An empress of the night, she is, Reader, you should run
She commands all of Hell and Earth, but nothing above

And though power and reverence is what she holds
Her silken hands show only painful, jagged scars
And she weeps pure tears, no evil, her only goodness
All she longs for is to sleep amongst the heavenly stars
