Once upon a times

by StandStill   Apr 6, 2008

Flitting through a forest, a little light shines
playing hide and seek with faires, smiles lighting the sky
little periwinkle flowers winking in and out of view
magic woven through trees, and love is nigh

glittering through sunrises and moonlit nights
easy, pain free, untainted with man-made sin
and the pixies play tricks on the animals
all about are carefree, devilish grins

but one night, a shift on the wind, the songs cease
the scene is changing, the vibrancy slowly fades
encroaching is the darkness, the pain, the doubt
every misconception infiltrates, oh, how man-made

take it to you grave, Reader, that in a land lost
shrouded in mist, there were once upon a times,
but dirtied by the bloodied hands of man
we destroyed the balance, with our sinful crimes
