Wallflower

A desperation to be a wallflower, no need for light
melting into the background, unnoticeable herself
crying out to be a silent, invisible ghost
tears filling her eyes, she is careful keep them on te shelf

She wants to grow up over the walls
unoticabley pale, tendrils of hope shooting upwards
but instead she is in the spotlight, center stage
and all is visible, every break, every shard

rouge, creeping across an already crimson face
embarrassment at failing, another time, another fall
she doesn't know how to hold in the tears any more
and in front of a stranger, she's about to lose it all

But she'll bite her lip, until she is bleeding
no tears, she has to pretend to be strong
we all know that if she breaks and cries
well, that would be oh so wrong
