Broken heart beat

by StandStill   Apr 7, 2008

Oh! such a desperate plea
Reader, can you hear his broken heart beat?
that shattering sound, fragile still
but, oh! how bold, whence it acomplishes a feat

It's like a broken butterfly
similar to those inside his stomach when he sees her
he thinks my poems are more than pennies
but doesn't see it when he looks in the mirror

All he wants, his one little wish
is to make her happy, to smile
so he can drown in those blue oceans,
her eyes, if only for a while

I pray to the Lord, dear reader,
that she soon unbreaks his heart
or at least, she smiles his direction
yes, that would be a grand start

*you know who you are*
