Fading Nature

by Paralyzed   Apr 7, 2008

Cement jungles,
Barren plains,
Empty forests,
Pocket gains.

Dig for oil,
Hunt for gold,
Kill for diamonds,
Nature's sold.

Rob the earth,
Dry her womb,
What won't sell,
We must consume.

Hug a tree,
And say good bye,
Tomorrow brings,
A paper sigh.

Money, books,
A sign of power,
Fancy house,
Fading flower.

Endless fields,
Suburban dream,
Nature's hurting,
Feel her scream.

Wrapped up in,
Our selfish lives,
Where all else fails,
And greed survives.
