When Derek Dies

by Dani LaLone   Apr 7, 2008

When Derek dies,
There will be no tears in my eyes.
I will sing to God,
Shaking my head with a pleasant nod.

He cheated on me,
He's a piece of shit.
He never wanted us to be,
It's okay, I'll just take another hit.

He reached right down,
Right into my soul.
He made me drown,
My heart, he stole.

A laceration of the sunset,
It left an open wound.
Every second I wasted with you, I regret,
My life, you completely ruined.

You destroyed my sense of value,
There were better things to say.
All I did was love you,
And want you to stay.

When Derek dies,
I won't say my goodbyes.
I will keep my head high,
And in relief, I will sigh.
