You Always Bite

by Soulful Ensemble   Apr 7, 2008

You can't be wrong while being right
If you don't know how to fight.
So they tell me I should always bite
And never pretend as if I might.

I slightly think of you tonight
Barely knowing that you're alright.
Telling myself its out of sight
To assume that we'll be on that flight.

In the end, you'll leave alone to my delight
Although you'll never know I smile.
You remember me as someone who doesn't bite
Who you thought you knew a while.

But I say: always bite,
Even when your mouth is closed,
Your eyes are sealed tight,
And outside you're exposed.

Because you don't need your teeth to bite
You only need a soul that's right,
And would like to make a point tonight
As your paths do cross in sight.

And you will always know when it's right
To close that mouth and bite.
The spark will, on its own, ignite
And there won't always have to be a fight
To prove that its already night.
