In my garden

by StandStill   Apr 8, 2008

In my garden
the lillies grow
but something else is there,
don't you know?

Blossoming embarrasment
and little vines of Guilt
little Pangs of Resentment
sprout in the potted silt

Look, dear reader,
at all the green!
as we all know those are the leaves
of Jealousy Mean

How pretty are the colors
and the lovely petals of Pain
that often hibernate
but always bloom again

And finally,
look carefully, strain your eyes
in the darkest corner
is a little plant of Lies

You see, Reader
who needs poison ivy's dart?
I have all I need to get by
Growing in my fertile heart
