Childhood Nightmare

by Forever Broken   Apr 8, 2008

In the dead of night, into darkness I slip
The devil's vines pull me into my nightmares grip
On a darkened playground, from my childhood's past
Happy children are playing with no shadows cast
Only one shadow is formed by a girl all alone
her twisted smile masks her true pain not shown
Around her the devils vines are creeping so near
Yet this emotionless girl remains untouched by fear
She's so used to the darkness that she has found
She raises her shadow up from the ground
She steps towards the image of the her own shadow girl
Becoming engulfed and cut off from the world
A candle in the darkness is her only way back
but the strength to move towards it's hope she lacks
Fear fills the void in her heart where love should lie
but tears brought on pain caused her love to die
This nightmare I'm having must be trying to say
That her lfie didn't have to turn out this way
