Just Like Everybody Else

A million other people stand in this very line
Feeling the exact same emotions I did each time
Write a presciption and then go out the back door
Curing only the problems of today, not from before

They tell me I'm not alone in this pain I feel
But can they tell if what I am feeling is truly real?
It feels like I'm walking in an endless dream
Where only in the darkest part of my mind can I scream

I speak of demons that haunt me every night
You know the kind too strong to ever fight
They choke you with memories of past pains
Until you cannot stand to live another day again

The worst part of this situation we are in
Is the people we love just get hurt in the end
As if the moment you talk it comes out another way
Like someone has taken over whatever you say

So like a fool you can only stand and watch it fall apart
Praying for a just one more chance to get a fresh start
But as you should know, life is too cruel and unfair
And likes to laugh as you die inside your own despair
