If

by My Obsεssion   May 24, 2004

If pictures are worth a thousand words
Then what if they aren't spoken?
If promises are meant to last forever
How come they can get broken?

If true love knows no boundaries or limits
What if it remembers?
If we are in this together as a whole
Then what if it dismembers?

If size doesn't matter
Then do the little things still matter most?
If you live your life in overdrive
What happens when you coast?

If love is a battlefield
Where does it lie?
If friendship lasts forever
Then how can it still die?

If the sun always rises on a new day
Then what happens at dawn?
If true love never dies
Then from its remnants, will another spawn?

If I promise never to let go
What happens if I slip?
If you always seem to bounce back up
What happens if you trip?

If your memories fade away
Can they ever become big and bold?
If all you ever feel is heat
Will you ever experience the cold?

If you are dark and lonely
Can someone shed light on you?
If love has been all lies
Then can it ever become true?

If you've been bottling up your emotions
What happens if you let them flow?
If you've been holding onto a memory for a long time
What happens when you finally let it go?
