You are so wonderful

As I awoke this morning an unforgettable picture appeared in my eyes
The early morning sun had cast its ever seeking light into our bedroom
My darling as you lay there you were caught in a golden shaft of the sun's rays
No more perfect vision would any person ever witness within their lifetime.

Your golden hair was encircled by a rarely seen halo of spectacular brightness
Of course it was a trick of the sun but the sight of you will remain with me forever
It was as though the Heavens had chosen you for an Angel and you looked so peaceful
To have you by my side is a privilege I shall never forget - I love you so dearly.

Soon you yourself will stir and your lovely green eyes will look across for me as always
Your concerned mind will concentrate on me and ask if I am feeling well and comfortable
Then you will place your nightrobe on and hurry off to look after breakfast for the two of us
My love what did I ever do to deserve a wife as loving, loyal and as gentle as you?

While you are preparing our meal I kneel down beside our bed and offer thanks to our Maker
I thank him for bringing into my life such a flower of femininity - my very own Orchid Lady
Unknown to you I silently speak to God and offer up prayers for you and your aching body
For you would never let me know when you are in pain, as this is the wonderful wife you are.
