Hidden Sun

by Gabba Gabba Hey   Apr 10, 2008

Collapsing around me,
the dawn approaches
shrouded in a cape of pearls,
surrounded by a desert fire
its warmth is blocked by the coming storm
it's light put out by the clouds
as a candle by the wind

I wonder why the dawn doesn't fight it
is it content to sit and what?
I for one, am not
I lift up my skirts
as dawn does the sun
and head towards the door
walking quickly down the stairs.

Once freed of the walls
I raised my arms towards the sky
and yelled
"Why will you not push them away?
Show yourself! I am in need of your warmth!"
The clouds stayed where they were , and the sun remained unseen
disappointed, I lowered my arms and walked back inside
