Swift sails

by Bilquis   Apr 10, 2008

Like swift sails against strong wind,
stubborn, yet wavering, struggling to align,
While hovering in the air, reckless and wild,
It's such a burden to tame your mind...
You want to scream,
Shout out to the world,
That in white-clouded dreams,
Your true soul unfurl,
Hidden from everyone,
your dark, genuine self,
Drifting on stormy waters, shut in a shell.
You are strong and determined to persist,
Yet like words written in sand,
You will cease to exist,
Restless as you ever were,
A single sailing ship,
Heading for unknown lands,
unprepared for your trip.
But once your strong wind has diminished,
And your sails are no longer swift,
While you're in the middle of the dark blue sea,
Will your mind then wander back to me?
I wonder, waiting patiently,
The unmoving harbour for your ship to be.
