The Other Car

Although The Time Had Quickly Passed,
Like Sand Runs Through An Hour Glass.
It Felt Like Hours As She Sat,
Waiting For Him To Come Back.
A Million Thoughts Ran Through Her Head,
She Couldn't Live If He Was Dead.
She Stared At What Was In Her Hand,
But Still, She Couldn't Understand.
She Reassured That He Was Fine,
And He'd Walk Right Out In No Time.
But The Fact Stood Quit Clear,
There Was No Way That He'd Leave Here.
She Clenched The Unforgotten Cross,
And Thought About What She Had Lost.
Her Eyes Were Glazed, Her Hair A Mess,
Her Heart Was Pounding In Her Chest.
Her Mind Kept Playing The Painful Scene,
In Which She Lost Her Every Dream.
The Headlights Beamed In Her Face,
Sight And Sound Became Erased.
The Unexpected, Deadly Crash,
Her Head Got Smashed Against The Glass.
The Sirens Raged, And She Was Fine.
But He Hit Hard And Broke His Spine.
And As She Sat In That Chair,
He Lay In Intensive Care.
And When The Doctor Told The News,
Her Whole World Broke Right In Two.
Finally, She Told The Doctor,
"I Must Go Tell My Mother And Father."
He Said, "Theres More Things You Should Know."
Her Tears Began To Slowly Flow.
"There Was Another Car, Correct?"
She Nodded, Memories Starting To Collect.
He Looked At Her, Then He Sighed.
"The Ones That Hit You Also Died."
He Put His Hand On Her Shoulder,
And Then He Spoke Softer And Slower.
The News Sank In, Her Face Went Blank,
Her Mind Blew Up, As Her Heart Sank.
She Asked Him To Repeat His Words,
As Though Thats Not What She Had Heard.
He Spoke Again, It Was True,
She Felt Her World Get Torn In Two.
The Sentence Jogged Through Her Mind,
The Pain Increased Every Time.
She Truly Lost All That She Had,
"The Others Were Your Mom And Dad."
